Agadir is a major city in the southern part of Morocco, situated at the foot of the anti-atlas mountains and looking over the atlantic ocean, also it is one of the most popular seaside resort of Morocco.
Agadir is the capital of the Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane Prefecture and of the Souss-Massa region. A majority of its inhabitants speak Tachelhit as their first language, they are proud of their heritage and culture and are very very welcoming to visitors.
The city was completely rebuilt in the late 20th century after it was hit by an earthquake which destroyed the city including the ancient kasbah (Agadir Oufella) following a devastating earthquake in 1960.
Today the city is primarily a tourist resort to get away from the crowded cities. It has excellent clean beaches, first class golf courses, beautiful international class “A” hotels with modern amenities.
